Derek Baker, LMHC, CASAC, MA, is an experienced therapist offering culturally sensitive support to adults and children from age 6 at his self-named practice, Logos Mental Health and Wellness, in Fayetteville, New York.
Derek attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, earning master’s degrees in human services and professional counseling. He also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Liberty University. Derek offers a new, refreshing experience for patients who’ve previously had therapy. For those new to therapy, he provides empathy and understanding as patients begin their healing journey.
Derek uses a wide-ranging mix of therapies, extending to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (MBCT), motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and strength-based therapy. He is also a committed faith-based counselor, working with patients to make positive changes to their lives supported by their religious beliefs.
When meeting new patients, Derek considers all biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors affecting an individual’s mental health. He uses a holistic, person-centered approach to help people overcome challenging conditions like mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, and anxiety.
Derek sees people in person or at virtual meetings using secure telemedicine technology. He welcomes new patients to Logos Mental Health and Wellness.
